Shropshire's Written Statement of Action is published

24/11/2020

PACC welcomes the sign off the Shropshire Written Statement of Action by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.  The WSOA has been co-produced; with PACC, Shropshire Council and the Clinical Commissioning Group working together to create an effective document that identifies the key actions needed to make progress against the areas of significant weakness highlighted during the Shropshire SEND Inspection.

Working together on the WSOA has enabled us to strengthen, and in some cases establish, the relationships that will be essential to ensuring that this necessary work continues.  PACC believes that we can only ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for children and young people with SEND and their families through joint working and co-production.  We all need to work in an environment that is typified by honesty, respect and commitment, where families are listened to and there is a genuine desire for change.

The WSOA provides an opportunity to significantly improve the support experience of SEND families in Shropshire and PACC looks forward to building on the positive start to this process.

As we enter the implementation phase of the WSOA, PACC will continue to ensure that the Shropshire SEND community are kept informed about progress and any opportunities to contribute to this work.  We have created specific pages on our website to share information about related activity and established a SEND Inspection parent carer group, which those parent carers who are interested in supporting this work can join - see http://www.paccshropshire.org.uk/shropshire-send-inspection  If you are a parent carer and you are interested in being involved in this work please do contact PACC on enquiries@paccshropshire.org.uk

ShropshireCouncil has published the WSOA on their Newsroom site on the following link https://newsroom.shropshire.gov.uk/2020/11/written-statement-of-action/
