Help PACC inform the development of the new Special School being built in Shrewsbury.

12/10/2021

Following Shropshire Council successful bid for funds to build a new Special School in Shropshire, the YES Trust was recently commissioned to run the new Academy.  The new school will be known as ‘The Keystone Academy’ and the YES Trust are currently running a consultation to hear and gather the thoughts of families about why the new school is needed.

PACC has created a online form with the consultation questions so that you can participate in the consultation and just submit your responses to PACC, who will then pass them onto the YES Trust on your behalf. https://forms.office.com/Pages/DesignPage.aspx?wdLOR=cFE95007B-214B-4E0D-8F9E-80594A7ABA81#FormId=8-Ry0vSxDkyIYEnABJKdrzequcU56F5Bu-rizwkYIAxUM1Q1OEFJR0tTQ0JBUlpYWDZTOUVUWUMzOS4u&Token=51f6cbaa8e654105ac7910cd61ce268a

You can also access the consultation as a word document here and send your response directly to the Trust.  The Yes Trust have asked us to share the information below;

"The Keystone Academy is due to be built on Squinter Pip Way in Bowbrook, Shrewsbury. It is a Special Educational Needs school for students with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for social, emotional and mental health (especially neuro-diverse) needs. The Academy can cater for 120 students. Initially it will support students in Years 4 to 9. Moving forward, the school will support children aged 4 to 16.

The YES Trust would like to hear from the local community in the coming weeks to help inform the decision from the Secretary of State on whether to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Trust. We would like to hear your comments so that we can offer feedback to ensure The YES Trust and The Keystone Academy are meeting the needs of the communities we serve.  We are passionate about ensuring the best possible outcomes for the vulnerable students we are looking to support and educate.

We will record all views shared with us during the formal consultation period running from Monday 11th October 2021 to Monday 29th November 2021.
