PaCC is attending regular meetings with the organisations who provide local health services, including Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust (SATH) and Shropshire Community Health Trust (ShropCom). These meetings are focused on using the experience of those who use these services to make improvements and focus particularly on the experience of the Learning Disability and / or Autism community.
Some work has already happened to make health services more accessible to people with a Learning Disability and / or Autism. Recently ‘Patient Packs’ have been introduced and are now available in some hospital waiting areas. These packs include; ear defenders, fidget toys and easy read information. There is also work being done to improve the recording of reasonable adjustments that might be needed by those with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism.
PaCC wants to hear from you about your relationship with Health Services to inform our work going forward. We would be really grateful if you could complete a short survey for us. You can start the survey here
