Join us for a day to think about what it means to be a Parent Carer and what the support Parent Carers need might look like? This conference marks the start of PACC’s Carers Week Programme, with a focus on this year’s theme of ‘Building Carer Friendly Communities’.
In the morning, we will be joined by Rachel Wright from Born at the Right Time, who’s vision is to ‘Bridge the Gap’ between families and practitioners through the power of lived experience and parent carer trauma awareness. She believes building positive relationships leads to empathic, collaborative working and creates inclusive services which run more efficiently. This will be followed by some fun wellbeing activities and a relaxed lunch when you can catch up with friends.
In the afternoon we want to hear from you about what support for Parent Carers might look like via tabletop discussions under the following headings: Community and belonging, Empathy and understanding (training for practitioners), Empowerment and Understanding your rights and Practical Support. This feedback will inform work in the Shropshire local system to improve support for parent carers.
The conference will take place on Monday 8th June at Shrewsbury Town Football Ground, 9.30am – 2.30pm
