Initial feedback on the recent Ofsted & CQC Focused visit looking at the Shropshire Offer of SEND Services has been published in the Shropshire Star. PACC and Parent / Family Carers provided feedback through a meeting with the inspection team and via an online survey. Concerns that strategic improvement plans are yet to impact families positively was recognised but it is disappointing that the issue of sufficiency (service unable to respond to demand) was not acknowledged.
We know that families particularly raised the lack suitable education placements for complex needs and those with mental health needs, insufficient short break services and insufficient post diagnostic support, alongside ongoing delays in accessing Autism or ADHD assessments. The Shropshire findings will contribute to a national report to be published later in the year.
