New CAMHS Service – Preparing for 1st April 2026

A new CAMHS Service for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has been agreed to start on the 1st April 2026. This will continue to be delivered by the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT) but will replace the existing service known as BeeU.

PACC has recently been attending meetings about the introduction of this new service and has been asked to share information through our networks.  We are pleased to be able to do this and welcome this engagement with PACC, however we are also disappointed about what we see as a significant lack of focus to date on the needs of the SEND community when developing this new service.

MPFT have produced an engagement report summarising the feedback that informed the development of the new service.  PACC’s position is that there is a lack of feedback specifically from the SEND community captured in the report, so it is not clear what the views of children and young people with SEND or Parent Carers / Family Carers are about the development of this new service.  PACC also provided NHS Commissioners with a number of our reports to inform the development of the Service, the findings of this work are also not shared within the report.

PACC hopes that this lack of active engagement with the Shropshire SEND Community can be addressed going forward and that there will be an improved recognition of SEND specific views to inform service development.  We believe that PACC can play a key role in this based on our long-term work in this area and hope that both NHS commissioners and MPFT will take the opportunity to work with us to address this gap.

The current focus in this area is sharing information about initial plans for the service.  MPFT have produced a guide explaining what is changing in the local CAMHS service and plans for the future, you can read this here

There is also an opportunity to share your ideas about naming the new service
