PACC has received the information below from Shropshire Council’s Co-production Team. If you are interested in helping to shape Shropshire’s Adult Social Care Strategy get in touch with the Co-production Team on the email below.
You may remember that we have been asking for people to come and be involved in helping to develop Shropshire Council’s new Care and Wellbeing Strategy, which will set out our vision, priorities, and commitments across Adult Social Care in Shropshire for 2026 to 2031. Tamsin Waterhouse, principal social worker, spoke about it at the Co-production Celebration last week There have been two changes to this piece of work.
Change one – The name has been changed, and it is now called The Adult Social Care Strategy not the Care and Wellbeing Strategy.
Change two – There has been a change of times and dates. The sessions are no longer running on the 24th and 26th June but will now be on
Option 1 – Face to face Guildhall Thursday 16th July 2.00- 4.00 PM
Option 2 – Online, Wednesday 15th July 3.00 – 4.30 PM (a diary invite will be sent out to you with joining instructions)
During the workshops we will be discussing Six key priorities have been identified from feedback you have made. These are:
- A new operating model focusing on prevention, wellbeing, and independence
- Support for unpaid carers to sustain their role and live well
- Support for self-funders to enable them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Developing and supporting our workforce, especially in new ways for working
- Safeguarding, quality, and learning
- Partnership working
The council would like your input to understand if these feel right and to help to develop them into ‘I’ and ‘We’ statements that reflect our commitments:
- The ‘I statements’ would describe what good looks like from the perspective of someone who draws upon care and support (e.g. I can get the right help at the right time)
- The ‘We statements’ would describe what people who work in care and support should do to make the ‘I’ statement real. (e.g. We ( the council) make it easy to access clear and reliable information)
This is a really important piece of work and we hope now they are on different dates many of you will be able to take part in the workshops. This opportunity will be paid at a rate of £13.35 per hour and reasonable travel expense will be cover if attending the face-to-face meeting in the guildhall, if traveling within Shropshire.
Please get in touch if you have any questions and let us know if you are able to take part. Everybody is welcome.
Many Thanks
The Co-production Team
