Belonging and Resilience Among Parents and Carers of Neurodivergent Children – Research

 

 

PACC has been asked to share this request for Parent Carers input into a research project looking at belonging and resilience. With Carers Week approaching it is timely to support further understanding of what good support for Parent Carers might look like, this will be further discussed at the PACC Conference on the 8th June.  All the details for getting involved in the research are provided below including contact details for any questions.

‘Are you a parent or carer of a child or young person who is neurodivergent or showing neurodivergent traits?

You are invited you to take part in a short anonymous survey as part of a MSc Psychology Conversion dissertation at Wrexham University.

What is the study about?

This research explores belonging and resilience among parents and carers, including whether experiences may differ for those attending online or in-person support groups.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you:

  • are aged 18 or over
  • are a UK resident
  • are a parent or carer of a child or young person who is neurodivergent or showing neurodivergent traits

(including Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental or learning differences — diagnosed, awaiting diagnosis, or strongly suspected)

  • currently attend a support group for parents/carers, either online or in person

What does taking part involve?

  • Completing an anonymous online survey
  • Takes around 10–15 minutes
  • Participation is entirely voluntary
