How you can help PACC

The basis of parent participation is the sharing of experience. You can help us to support you by telling us what you think about the services you have received in caring for your child.

We would like to know about the good experiences as well as the less satisfying ones, what works and what does not. You may have heard about an idea that has improved delivery in another area that you think could work in Shropshire or have an idea how a service could work better for you.

Whatever your comments we would like to hear them. We often hear that families who care for disabled children are isolated by that experience, we want that experience to be something that brings us together and then, by working together, improves the lives of our children.

Becoming a PACC Representative

Another way you can help is to become a PACC representative on a Work Group, Steering Group or Short Term project. This will involve attending regular meetings, usually once every other month and providing the parent carers perspective in the groups subject area. To be a representative you do need to become a member of PACC and agree to follow the PACC Standards (see About PACC section). You will also need to provide feedback to the rest of the committee on the activity of the group you are involved in. In most cases travel expenses and possibly child care costs are provided.

See the PACC Consultations section to find out about some of the areas we have been involved in.
