Please find link below details of a consultation event PACC is holding on the 10th Feb to discuss two current issues that are likely to directly affect our families.
The Government is presently consulting on proposed reforms for Disability Living Allowance. The proposed reforms have raised a lot of concern amongst disability organisation due to the likely negative impact on individuals of all ages who are living with a disability.
On the local front major changes are being proposed about how hospital services are delivered in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin in the coming years.
The consultation event will provide you the opportunity to voice your opinions on both topics and to contribute to the PACC formal responses to these consultations. We hope you can join us. More detailed information about both sets of proposals are in the PACC newsletter that will be circulated later this week.
Also linked below are details of events being run by the Shropshire and Telford Hospital NHS Trust to discuss the proposals for the delivery of local hospital services.
Best Wishes

NNPCF response to the consultation
On Thursday 10th Feb PACC hosted a consultation event for parents and carers to express their feelings about the Governments Disability Living Allowance Reform Proposals. Twenty parents attended and raised concerns about a number of issues, including the impact of the proposed removal of the mobility component from residential settings including schools, the new assessment process and the consideration of any aids or adaptations when assessing eligibility for DLA. A full copy of the PACC response can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
The consultation period has recently been extended to the 18th February. Full details of the reform proposals can be viewed at:
