Report on PACC AGM 2010 /11

Feedback from AGM

12 people attended the AGM and apologies were received from 3 committee members

The morning was spent working with Jill Cleveley and Alex Hiam to look at the updating of the Rainbow Pack. The history of the pack was discussed and how it might be used by families currently. An exercise was completed looking at how easy it was to locate information in the pack. Overall the response to the pack was positive. Several suggestions were made about additional information that needed to be included – specifically some guidance around transport. Suggestions were also made about the layout of the pack; providing a content list at the beginning, providing notes pages for important telephone numbers, records of appointments, key information about the child etc.

Just before lunch the AGM was held. Julie davenport introduced the annual reports, thanked those committee members who were stepping down (S Gerrard, R Chapman and D Smith) and voting took place on membership of the committee for the coming year. The following people were voted onto the PACC committee for the coming year;

Julie Davenport

Sarah Thomas

Anne lanham

Jeannette Griffiths

Annette Whitaker

Esther Scriven

Heather Cooke

Richard Cooke

Sandra Barrett

After lunch Sarah Thomas presented background information about the PACC Day in the Life of Project including details of how PACC currently interact with the Local Authority management structure and the local health services and how important it was for services to have a good understanding of the realities of the day to day life of a family of a child with a disability or additional need. This was then followed by a participation exercise where the attendees were split in to two groups and asked to consider what makes each of them Mad, Sad and Glad about being a parent carer of a child with a disability or additional need.

The Annual Reports from the Chair and Secretary are accessible from the links below along with the record of PACC Activity for 2010 / 11.

NB: Following the AGM Lexi Evans has also joined the PACC Committee. Roles within the committee will be agreed at the next committee meeting in January.
