About PACC

Photo of the PACC Committee

We are a group of parents and carers of children with disabilities or additional needs including:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Medical conditions
  • Psychological conditions
  • Learning difficulties

We aim to make parents and carers aware of developments that affect their children and to give them a voice in influencing these developments. You can read more about the PACC Committee here.

Our members are happy to:

  • Share their views about services
  • Be involved in planning and developing services

The Parent and Carer Council (Shropshire) was formally established in September 2007, following a series of meetings and consultation activities by a group of parents/carers. We have a committee of ten parents/carers which meets regularly and a membership list of parents/carers who may be willing to take part in consultations.

We are currently funded by a Community Council Start-up grant which covers us for basic administration and start-up costs. We also receive practical support from Parent Partnership Service.

The following information about the group is taken from our handbook. If you would like further information from the full handbook which also includes our Constitution, Commitment, Financial Controls, Protocol for Joint Working, Child Protection Statement, and Business Plan and Budget (2008) then please contact us.
